What is retirement?
Retirement is an honorable option available to members of the Robloxian Armed Forces who have decided that they no longer wish to actively serve but do not want to permanently leave the organization. Rather than resigning entirely, retiring allows members to step away from active duty while remaining a respected part of the RAF community.
This option is ideal for personnel who have become less active on Roblox, no longer have the time to participate due to school, work, or personal commitments, or have simply lost interest in regular gameplay. Retirement recognizes the service and dedication a member has given to the RAF and provides a way to conclude active service with dignity and respect.
Retired members remain valued members of the RAF family and may continue to stay connected with the community. Depending on RAF policies and future opportunities, retired personnel may also have the ability to return to active service if they choose to become active again and meet any applicable reinstatement requirements.
Retirement is not a disciplinary action or a resignation. It is an honorable transition from active service into retired status, recognizing a member’s contributions while preserving their legacy within the Robloxian Armed Forces.
Retirement Eligibility Requirements
To ensure that retirement remains an honorable privilege, members must meet the following eligibility requirements before their request can be approved:
- Must hold the rank of Sergeant (SGT) or higher.
- Sergeants (SGT) through Captains (CPT) must receive approval from their respective divisional chain of command before a retirement request will be considered.
- Majors (MAJ) and above may submit a retirement request without requiring divisional approval, subject to final review by High Command.
- Must have no pending disciplinary actions or active court cases within the Robloxian Armed Forces judicial system at the time of submission.
- Must leave the RAF in good standing, demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and adherence to RAF standards throughout their service.
Meeting the above requirements does not automatically guarantee approval. All retirement requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis to ensure they are in the best interest of both the member and the Robloxian Armed Forces. Once approved, the member will receive an Honorable Discharge and officially enter Retired Status, recognizing their service and preserving their legacy within the organization.
Funeral Arrangements
To honor the service and legacy of retired members, the Robloxian Armed Forces may conduct an in-game military funeral ceremony following an approved retirement. Funeral ceremonies are a symbolic tradition intended to recognize a member’s contributions to the RAF and provide fellow members with an opportunity to pay their respects.
Whenever possible, a member’s funeral will be held within seven (7) days of their official retirement. During the ceremony, the member will be recognized with a personalized memorial that includes:
- Their full Roblox username.
- Their highest rank attained.
- Their division of service.
- Their highest award or decoration earned.
- The month and year they joined the Robloxian Armed Forces.
- The month and year they retired from active service.
Following the ceremony, the member will receive a permanent in-game gravesite to commemorate their service. Certain memorial ornaments may be placed on the headstone to symbolize the impact they had on the RAF community.
Memorial Ornaments
The following ornaments may be awarded at the discretion of High Command:
- 🪨 Rock – Represents a member who was generally not well-liked or left a negative legacy within the organization. While every member receives a memorial, this ornament serves as a historical representation of their reputation.
- 🌹 Flower Vase – Awarded to members who were widely respected, well-liked, and remembered positively by their peers.
- 🚩 Small Flag – Represents members who made a lasting contribution to the Robloxian Armed Forces through exceptional leadership, innovation, service, or historical significance.
- ⚔️ Sword – Reserved exclusively for members who attained the rank of General (Four-Star General), recognizing their distinguished service at the highest level of military leadership.
The assignment of memorial ornaments is determined solely by High Command after reviewing the member’s overall service record, leadership, conduct, and lasting impact on the Robloxian Armed Forces. These symbols are intended to preserve the history of the organization and ensure that every member’s legacy is remembered appropriately for future generations.
